Industrial EngineeringThe Industrial Engineering Program is offered through WPI’s Foisie Business Faculty and is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Fee of ABET. Industrial engineers also rely upon specialized data within the industries through which they work. The BLS reviews that most industrial engineers can enter the workforce with bachelor’s levels, however earnings and employment prospects tend to improve with more training.

Intently associated to manufacturing engineering, work design entails such activities as process, procedural and work space design, that are geared toward supporting the efficient creation of goods and providers. Industrial engineering as we all know it began in the early 20th century, when the primary engineers started to use scientific principle to manufacturing.

Industrial engineers must be tactful in what they say and in how they say it. In addition to tact, being a profitable industrial engineer requires appeal and the willingness to face by one’s recommendations even in the face of unresponsive administration.

In its early days, industrial engineering was driven almost entirely by the motive to extend the efficiency and profitability of manufacturing operations. The MS Industrial Engineering degree is offered on-campus and on-line. A research performed by Francis Marion University urged a need for industrial Engineers within the Pee Dee Area of South Carolina.

Our industrial engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Know-how, and the curriculum covers matters in ergonomics, work measurement, operations analysis, facility structure, management, and continuous enchancment.
